Deep Tech Canada has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Decentralised Energy Canada (DEC), formalizing a new partnership between Canada's deep tech and decentralised energy sectors.
DEC is the national voice of Canada’s decentralised energy industry, reaching more than 10,000 industry subscribers and drawing on over two decades of experience advancing distribution-connected energy systems. Decentralised energy brings generation closer to where it is used, harnessing local resources such as solar, wind, geothermal and hydrogen through microgrids, energy storage, heat pumps and grid-edge technologies.
The overlap with deep tech is significant: advanced materials for next-generation storage, critical minerals for battery supply chains, and AI-driven grid optimization are increasingly what make distributed energy solutions viable at scale.
Together, we look forward to supporting deep tech innovation in energy systems and helping accelerate its adoption, connecting our respective communities of innovators, investors, and industry leaders to build a more resilient and technology-driven energy future for Canada.
