Deep Tech Canada (DTC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. As a leader in advancing deep tech solutions, we are committed to driving innovation. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding our business opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, securing industry investments, and driving growth initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the deep tech sector, with a focus on cleantech. 
• Foster strategic relationships with key external partners to develop long-term relationships and expand DTC’s market presence.  
• Provide ongoing relationship management with existing members and partners to grow and expand these relationships.  
• Recruit new members for the organization and strategically target high-potential sectors or companies.  
• Represent DTC at industry events.  
• Stay informed of federal, provincial, and private funding opportunities that support DTC’s growth. 
• Stay informed on industry trends and market dynamics. 
• Collaborate with internal team members to execute business strategies and develop business plans.  

Education:  

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, MBA would be an asset.  
• Background in science, or related fields. 

Experience: 

• 5+ years of business development experience with a track record of revenue growth.  
• Familiarity with the deep tech and clean tech ecosystem.  
• Grant writing experience is considered an asset.  

Knowledge and skills: 

• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.  
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.  
• Outstanding client management focus. 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 
• French language skills are considered an asset.
