Deep Tech Canada and SDTA Sign MOU to
Strengthen International Innovation Partnership

Deep Tech Canada has reached a significant milestone in international collaboration. On May 9, 2025, our President, Dr. Marie D’Iorio, and Clara Chen, CEO of the Singapore Deep-Tech Alliance (SDTA), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formalize our shared commitment to advancing deep tech to advancing deep tech innovation across Canada and Singapore.

This partnership will foster collaboration between Canadian and Singaporean innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs. The MOU sets the stage for joint initiatives focused on research, commercialization, and ecosystem development aimed at solving global challenges through science-driven technology.

By uniting two non-profit organizations with a shared mission to drive innovation for meaningful impact, the agreement reflects a common vision: to accelerate the development and real-world application of breakthrough technologies that benefit both our countries and the wider international community.

It also marks a commitment to strengthening cross-border business development, fostering research collaboration, launching joint initiatives that support our respective ecosystems, and contributing to the shaping of forward-looking deep tech policy.

Canada brings world-class strengths to this collaboration. With a strong foundation in deep tech research and a growing ecosystem of startups, scale-ups, and research institutions, Canada is well-positioned to contribute cutting-edge technologies and scientific expertise to this partnership.
