Deep Tech Canada, in partnership with the University of Calgary – Faculty of Science, Calgary Economic Development, and the Trade Commissioner Service, is leading a Smart Materials Trade Mission to Japan, from January 26–30, 2026. This mission is tailored for innovative Canadian companies working in advanced and smart materials*, nanotechnology, and related fields.
Participants will explore collaboration and commercialization opportunities in Japan, while also taking part in nano tech Japan, one of the world’s largest and most influential nanotechnology conferences.

Nano tech Japan is one of the largest nanotechnology conferences and exhibitions in the world. Expected are over 40,000 visitors, 480 exhibitors from 32 different countries. The Canadian pavilion will be designed such that business-to-business meetings can be held, and demonstrations of materials and instrumentation can take place.

Attendees will have access to all trade mission sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities, making it an ideal choice for those interested in learning, networking, and exploring potential business opportunities.
The Display Exhibitor registration category is designed for organizations looking to showcase their products or services during the mission. Exhibitors will have a prominent display space* to present their offerings, interact with potential clients, and network with other participants. This category is ideal for those seeking to actively engage in marketing and promotion.
The exhibitor will receive every item listed under the delegate registration, plus:

The participant is responsible for airfare, hotel expenses, local transportation, insurance, and all other expenses while on the mission. The entrance fee to the nano tech Japan trade show and exhibition is included.
