Deep Tech Canada is pleased to share highlights from our inaugural Life Science mission to Bio Japan, held in partnership with API. Bio Japan is the world’s oldest biotechnology exhibition and one of Asia’s largest partnering events.
We brought Deep Tech Canada members to the Canadian pavilion for business-to-business meetings, demonstrations and to grow Canada's international reach in deep tech. This trade mission not only strengthened ties between Canada and Japan but also fostered innovation and collaboration in the life sciences sector.
We kicked off our week at the Kawasaki Innovation Gateway (KING) Skyfront, an open innovation hub. Participants showcased their organizations, gaining valuable insights into the Life Innovation Center (LIC) and the Innovation Center of NanoMedicine (ICONM).
The second day was marked by our participation in the Global Life Science Session 2024, hosted by the Life Science Innovation Network Japan (Link-J). This networking event allowed companies to present their groundbreaking innovations and engage in meaningful discussions with peers in the life sciences sector.
We arrived at day one of Bio Japan at Pacifico Yokohama. We were in great company with our exhibitors, delegates and provincial representatives alongside the Trade Commissioner Service, Embassy of Canada in Japan.
The day concluded with an exhibitor reception, providing an excellent opportunity to connect with industry leaders.
We returned to Bio Japan for a full day of exhibiting where our mission participants took full advantage of the partnering system.
The Biotech City & Québec Cocktail Reception offered further chances to share innovative ideas and strengthen relationships with fellow exhibitors. We wrapped up the evening with a lively Partnering Party, which was a perfect setting for networking, collaboration and karaoke.
Our final day at Bio Japan was the culmination of productive meetings and partnership discussions. We were inspired by the innovative minds we connected with, exploring new avenues for collaboration that will surely bear fruit in the coming months.
